I see Love {Pregnancy Special Sessions}

Well we'll roll down dirty old windows
And sing with our eyes closed
Belt out the high notes
And we'll go down to the beach where the wind blows
And we'll throw off our old clothes
And we'll dance with our eyes closed

{ Passenger,  Lyrics to:   I SEE LOVE }

Sometimes you have to step out of your comfort zone to achieve a new direction, to step onto a different path. Although the following photos may or may not express that to you, they do to me.  It's no secret that I've been ready to try something new for awhile. After years of outside "park" shoots, I decided to step into the studio (a very new location for me) and try my hand at something I put together myself, something I felt I put a little more creativity and thought in to. I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I did making them. The girls were incredible to work with, and they were all so kind and responsive to my ideas.

Ashley, Heavenly and Jessica. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your pregnant bodies are truly
beautiful and I hope you feel beautiful in the photos. Enjoy this short and precious time and know not every woman gets to carry life into the world within their own body. Appreciate it. Thank you all for being a part of the shoot. Also, a BIG shout out and thank you to Dave Hansen for use of his studio and Nichole Robins-Bowling for an awesome job with hair and makeup.

If anyone reading this would like a similar shoot, please contact me. I'm excited to collaborate with anyone. Your shoot will include a fine art canvas for your home. To always remember this time.

Beautiful barefoot Appalachian girls....via Los Angeles {concept shoot}

So this was my third concept shoot...
(trying to stay on target by doing one a month this year)
I re-purposed and made the three dresses for my friends daughters
and brought everything to NC with us. They are just such
beautiful girls, they just blow me away every time I see them!
The idea was supposed to be sunlight through the trees, with three
dancing girls in sweet homemade dresses, real natural....etc.
But.....first is snowed, then it rained, and the whole sunlight thing
went right out the window. So I tried for "ethereal" instead. I'm very
happy with the results. I hope the girls will be too! They really were
superb troopers. Frolicking around on almost frozen ground, (barefoot)
we kept jumping back in the car to warm up over and over again!
Just like REAL models...they did their job despite the elements!

Home Made SuperHero's !

I have a lot of lofty goals this year: getting in shape,
eating better, being more creative, starting classes for mom's
who want to learn how to use their DSLR's...the list goes on.
But another of my goals is to be more creative with
my business. With my photography.
I want to start what's known as "concept shoots."
They are shoots that may take a little more planning on my end, but
the results are a more creative as well. My goal is to do one per
month this year. I hope the concept idea spills over into my
children's photography. Specifically, that parents will come
to me sometimes with an idea, and we will work together to
create a shoot that is UNIQUE, special and that could not ever
be easily re-produced. Time to step it up a notch!

So here is my first go! The idea, inspired by the many kids
(six seen here) who play with Preston on a daily
basis. A big Thank You to little Gavin. Even though he has
no idea....his cool Florida State cape (made all by himself)
was the spark that fueled my interest in this shoot.
I'd love your feedback!!

Holiday Spirit

This family looks like they are ready for the
Holidays! (and they helped to put me in the Holiday spirit too!)
My lovely friend Renee, and her family
came to see me this year at my new location,
Green Springs. We had a fine shoot, despite battling
enormous mosquitos! They grow them very large there at
Green Springs...
I love seeing these BEAUTIFUL girls every year,
and they just get prettier every time I see them. (all three) Amazing.
Eight years we've been together now.... I love you guys!
Thanks for a great shoot...

McLane's better half!

This was the 2nd part of McLane's shoot...and she
did wonderful. She was a laughing, fun, bundle of happiness.
I think she's the funniest, cutest thing on Earth.
Certainly, the cutest thing at Gemini Springs that day!
So happy I get to watch this one grow. I feel inspired
to shoot creative things with such a beautiful
little girl. (and family!)
Thanks again to Nikki and Walter for coming
out for another shoot ! I'm so excited to edit the rest !

Beautiful girl...

This little one has the sweetest face and the most
amazing skin and hair color!
I just knew she would shine in photos, and that's
why I have been wanting to photograph
her. Well, Ms. McLane missed her nap on the day of
photos, and she was not entirely excited about her big
photo shoot. However, we still managed to capture some
really cute shots, maybe even a family photo....
It's perfectly fine because now I get to see her again
real soon for the second half of her shoot! Yay!
Thank you to Nikki and Walter for your
interest and also for making the trip to see me!

My son has a crush...

Tell me your son wouldn't have a crush on one of these
gorgeous girls ! Please tell me how one married couple
gets this lucky three times! These girls are also amazingly
sweet and polite too. I loved hanging out with them when
they were visiting from CA. The oldest one was one of my
very first newborn shoots twelve years ago.
 Where does the time go?
(She was a beautiful baby too.)These three girls are the
beautiful offspring of one of my dearest and oldest friends.
Thankyou so very much, to P, M & E for letting me have
so much fun setting up your photo shoot. Can't wait
until next time!!
