Fun at Gemini { Shawna Everett Photography}

Once a year, I get to catch up with all my lovely
families that I have the honor of shooting. This year is no
different, and I'm jam-packed until December with
families. The Kelton family is a great way to start.
With these two beauties… it's a sweet start
to a great season. I take that back…. I mean THREE
beauties! Thank you Erin and Mike for meeting me
at the park this year!

Cute curls at the park. {Shawna Everett Photography}

I made a new friend today and she is so sweet!
She's really cute and has a head full of brown curls.
Her name is Keira and I fully enjoyed my time
with her and her mom and dad out at Gemini yesterday.
I learned she doesn't like hats too much, but she does like
Teddy bears and Minnie Mouse.
The weather held out for us and we had a good shoot
in the evening. Still hot and muggy, but Keira did
great overall. Thanks so much for coming so far, guys!
I enjoyed meeting you and really hope we can make
it a yearly event!

Eddie Marie {Deland newborn Photography}

This week I got to meet the newest member of
the Besong family, Ms. Eddie Marie. She's the cutest
thing ever. She gave us a run for our money during our
shoot, but we got the job done. Mommy comforting and
snuggling with Eddie were perhaps my favorites from the
shoot. Thank you to Sabine for allowing me to help capture
this special time in Eddie's first weeks.

Brent and Tara {NSB wedding vow renewal}

Tara and Brent,
(who's a decorated serviceman with the US ARMY)
had a beautiful ceremony on the beach to renew their vows
with their friends and family. The clouds were rolling in and I was
getting nervous. We got through the ceremony, photos of family
and captured some sweet photos with their daughter.
I then snapped one (and just one) of them together and the sky
opened up and it POURED on us!
The last photo I took is of them running off the beach in the downpour.
Charles was my second shooter at this wedding and I have to say,
he's one of the most talented journalistic photographers I have ever seen.
He's just amazing, and I'm so happy to have him backing me up
with fantastic shots. We both look forward to more weddings together,
so if you know someone who's looking....
Thank you to Diane for contacting me to do this ceremony
and of course a big thank you to Tara, Brent
and Payton... (for being so darn cute!)

Kennedy is almost ONE!

Sweet Ms. Kennedy Ann came to see me this weekend and
she was all decked out in polka-dots and colorful stripes.
SO CUTE! I loved seeing her again. She gives so much
expression and personality. She had a practice performance
with her first birthday cake too. I will save the details, but for
all those who will witness her birthday cake smash, I think
she's warmed up and ready for action now. Thank you to Joey
and Katie for brining her. I really enjoy knowing this little one!

Ashlynn turns ONE!

Sweet Ashlynn met me at the park today where
we attempted to commemorate her first
birthday with some special photos. It was a little
difficult because of the overhead light. (yes, I do know better!)
But I was bound and determined to make it work.
In the end, she looked so cute in each of our
set-ups! Thank you to Erin for all the ideas
and props to make this shoot a success!

Amelia.....my super girl!

So... how do I go about describing one of the most
amazing little girls ever? Amelia is TRULY a super-girl!
At three, she's a wonder of curiosity, wit, humor and
giddy happiness. She's vivacious and hilarious and full
of life! She's years ahead of her time.
If you can't tell already, she really holds a very
special place in my heart. I hope that my camera can follow
her throughout her life.  Oh yes !...  She also has a brand spankin' new
little brother who's equally as cute and bubbly, so far.
His name is Michael, and I did photograph him as a newborn.
I so enjoyed my shoot with you, Amelia. The rain didn't phase
us, did it?? :) Thank you to Susan and Michael (Sr.) for
coming such a long way to see me again !

Happy Birthday Allison !

Allison is Lilly's sister and she is a clone
of Lilly at this age. They are the cutest girls
with fluffy cheeks and gorgeous baby-doll lips!
I just love photographing their expressions.
Yesterday was Allison's FIRST Birthday!!
Happy Birthday Sweet Allison, you are
one of the cutest in my computer!
And as always, thank you to Jessica
for bringing your girls over.

Chloe is here!

As a mother of two boys, I can appreciate how excited the
Merritt family is to have a baby girl. Their family, like ours, have five
grandsons and no girls. (until now!) So it was an extra-special
treat to photograph the first baby girl for this family.
After a bit of warming up to the camera, Chloe did awesome.
And before I forget, big brother Chase did an
INCREDIBLE job holding and being with Chloe for
his photos! Great job Chase!

Beautiful barefoot Appalachian girls....via Los Angeles {concept shoot}

So this was my third concept shoot...
(trying to stay on target by doing one a month this year)
I re-purposed and made the three dresses for my friends daughters
and brought everything to NC with us. They are just such
beautiful girls, they just blow me away every time I see them!
The idea was supposed to be sunlight through the trees, with three
dancing girls in sweet homemade dresses, real natural....etc.
But.....first is snowed, then it rained, and the whole sunlight thing
went right out the window. So I tried for "ethereal" instead. I'm very
happy with the results. I hope the girls will be too! They really were
superb troopers. Frolicking around on almost frozen ground, (barefoot)
we kept jumping back in the car to warm up over and over again!
Just like REAL models...they did their job despite the elements!
